The PANTHER electric from Rosenbauer - futuristic and conceptual on a dark background.

More power.
Less emissions.

The revolutionary PANTHER electric leads firefighting into the era of electromobility. Experience familiar safety and functionality in a completely new way. Combined with the strength and reliability of the alternative drive concept, uncompromising performance is guaranteed in operations.

An electrifying combination.

Electrifying driving dynamics.

A low center of gravity combined with a perfectly matched chassis for the application, highest torsional rigidity, and stability, guarantee outstanding driving characteristics. The RIV / Boost mode allows the PANTHER electric to accelerate from 0 to 80 km/h (0-50 mph) in under 20 seconds.

Powerful firefighting technology.

Perfectly integrated and specially developed: Powerful pumps up to 9,000 l/min normal pressure. And roof monitors with an output of up to 9,000 l/min at up to 100 m throwing distance set new standards in the industry. Even in purely electric operation, there are no limitations in firefighting performance.

Emission-free operation.

With electric operation, the newly developed PANTHER electric emits no exhaust gases during arrival, departure, or operation and significantly rduces noise emissions compared to conventional airport firefighting vehicles.

Customized energy capacity.

The number and capacity of batteries are tailored to the application of the airport firefighting vehicle. High-speed drives for 2 to 3 minutes can be repeated multiple times, and intensive training sessions are also feasible. In addition, the energy storage is continuously replenished through regenerative braking.

Energy Backup System.

With the integrated Energy Backup System (EBU), operations and training sessions can be conducted seamlessly, even if they exceed planned durations. In such cases, the vehicle is powered by a diesel engine to provide energy.

Customized charging.

From 0% to 100% in approximately 45 minutes: The PANTHER electric can be charged with both direct and alternating current at a maximum charging power of 250 to 300 kW (DC). Thus, the energy for a typical operation involving high-speed driving and dispensing of extinguishing agents can be provided within 20 minutes.

Safely electrified.

Highest reliability is ensured by robust and durable components from quality manufacturers with years of experience in electromobility. The functional safety concept of the PANTHER electric meets current industry standards.

Fully illuminating.

The new lighting concept, consisting of close-range lighting from high-performance LED strips and groundbreaking airfield floodlights, supports both approach and work at the scene of operations.

The PANTHER electric: A milestone in the development of emission-free firefighting vehicles.

"With the PANTHER electric, we have developed a vehicle that redefines the boundaries of electromobility in the airport environment. A clear statement for sustainable innovation combined with strong performance."

Proven features. Reliable as usual.

Simply more.

Maximum performance, safety, and functionality: The Rosenbauer PANTHER is already in its 4th generation one of the most successful airport fire trucks. Emergency responders in over 100 countries worldwide rely on the powerful performance of the entire series – in every situation.

Certified design.

The specially developed and ECE R29-3 certified cabin is FEM-optimized, crash-tested, and offers outstanding all-round visibility. The ergonomic cockpit also features innovative soundproofing, reducing noise levels in the cabin and thus the stress load on the crew during operations.

Intuitive operation.

The control handle or joystick is equipped with backlit buttons and an indicator, facilitating the operation of the extinguishers. In addition, the extinguishing medium and flow rate are displayed. Unintentional operation of the STINGER extinguishing arm is prevented by a capacitive sensor.

Everything under control.

The control handle or joystick is equipped with backlit buttons and an indicator, facilitating the operation of the extinguishers. In addition, the extinguishing medium and flow rate are displayed. Unintentional operation of the STINGER extinguishing arm is prevented by a capacitive sensor.

Strikingly secure.

Equipped with LED daytime running lights, LED perimeter lighting, and an LED exterior fuel gauge, the vehicle is highly visible from all angles in any weather and lighting conditions.

Stays on track.

A frame with the highest torsional rigidity and a system of individually suspended solid axles ensure consistent ground clearance, even distribution of axle load, and tire pressure. The low center of gravity guarantees minimal roll and thus safe cornering.

Electronic Stability Control.

The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) provides additional safety during critical driving maneuvers. Through targeted braking interventions, it can stabilize the vehicle's trajectory or counteract understeer or oversteer depending on the driving situation.

Effective firefighting system.

The pump (N80) with a performance range of up to 9,000 l/min is perfectly tailored to operational needs and is resistant to dirty water. Additionally, pre-mixing systems can be installed as manual or electronically controlled versions.

Water on!

All water cannons are optionally available with ChemCore or CAFS and form a coordinated system with pumps and foam mixing equipment.

More space.

The optimized loading space in the rear compartment offers space up to the lower edge of the bodywork and allows for quick handling through the innovative opening concept. The large maintenance openings also facilitate access.

Frequently
Asked
Questions.

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the PANTHER electric.

The PANTHER electric is developed as an uncompromising airport fire truck. Like the current series, the electrified drive variant meets globally recognized standards and airport requirements such as ICAO, NFPA 414/1900, and FAA.

We see the PANTHER electric as a fully electric ARFF vehicle. All functions such as driving or extinguishing can be carried out purely electrically without compromise. A so-called energy backup system (a compact diesel engine) is available as a fallback system.

The PANTHER electric relies on its own electric drive platform. This allows the necessities of an ARFF vehicle to be efficiently addressed. The electric drive, including the battery pack, is characterized by robustness and components that have already proven themselves many times over in other applications. Rosenbauer's development partner is Magna, one of the world's largest automotive suppliers and mobility technology groups. Thanks to many developments in the field of e-mobility, Magna also enjoys the reputation of a globally recognized development partner in the field of alternative drive systems.

Efficient charging solutions are key to seamless adoption of e-mobility. The PANTHER electric's charging port meets current automotive standards and supports various charging methods. Depending on the infrastructure and state of charge (SOC), DC fast charging can recharge the vehicle in approximately 45 minutes. Additionally, AC charging ensures maintenance charging capabilities.

The primary difference lies in the propulsion system. While the PANTHER 6x6 relies on a powerful diesel engine for both propulsion and pump drive, the PANTHER 6x6 electric uses electric motors for these functions. The PANTHER electric also features a refined design and lighting concept compared to the current PANTHER series. The cabin, firefighting system, operation concept, and superstructure remain fundamentally identical.

Thanks to modern battery technology, there is little to no difference in firefighting agent volume between the PANTHER and the PANTHER electric. The volume depends on the specific configuration, as with the current PANTHER generation.

The PANTHER electric is equipped with a high-voltage battery built to automotive standards. The overall battery lifespan depends heavily on the usage profile, including environmental conditions, intensity of use, charging cycles, and charging power.

Yes, the PANTHER electric can operate its entire firefighting system, including water and foam pumps, purely electrically. This ensures full operational capability while reducing emissions and providing quieter operation during firefighting and training.

The PANTHER electric delivers the same high-performance firefighting capability as traditional diesel models, but with zero emissions and reduced noise levels for operators and airport personnel. Thanks to its powerful electric drivetrain, it accelerates from 0-80 km/h (0-50 mph) in less than 25 seconds, improving response times.
