Electrifying Developments
for the Future at a Glance.

Our goal as a market leader is to develop the most effective and sustainable system solutions for the firefighting industry. By consistently electrifying our fire vehicles and equipment, we are ready for tomorrow. As energy supply evolves, hybrid technologies will emerge that rely on an electric drive architecture.

The RT: an idea becomes reality.

The Journey Begins.

In 2011, initial considerations for alternative drive concepts began. We engage with future challenges and develop scenarios in various areas. The foundation for the RT and the Trendmap forms.

The Concept Fire Truck.

In 2016, the CFT was presented during the 150th anniversary celebration. The idea of e-mobility in firefighting became tangible and could be experienced.

The launchevent.

The time had come in 2020: The RT was officially presented in Linz. The event was a great success. Positive feedback and awards for the RT confirm our chosen path.

Convincing test phase.

The RT undergoes a 13-month test phase at the Professional Fire Department of Berlin. The result: About 1,400 operations, up to 16 times within 24 hours on high-frequency days, without failure and usually without intermediate charging. Over 90% of all operations could be carried out purely electrically. The RT was brought into regular operation.

RTX goes America.

In 2022 the first RTX (RT in US configuration) is delivered. In a short test phase, over 98% of all operations could be carried out purely electrically. And since September 2022, the RTX has been part of the regular vehicle fleet in Los Angeles City.

PANTHER electric: A Promise.

Electrifying Vision.

The PANTHER’s performance and strength has always been convincing. Around 2018, considerations began to electrify it. Now, finally, the necessary components were available.

Important cooperations.

The design of the PANTHER 6x6 electric begins. Right from the start, airport operators and fire departments from around the world get involved.

Highlight Interschutz.

In 2022, the concept of PANTHER electric was presented at Interschutz. Later that year, the transition to series development began. Rosenbauer relies on cooperation with innovation partners. Their findings from real-world test operations are incorporated into the development work of series production.

Safe Firefighting.

New challenges.

The shift in mobility brings more electric vehicles onto the roads. This presents fire departments with new challenges in the event of an emergency. High-voltage energy storage systems pose a significant hazard when ignited. Since 2018, Rosenbauer has been researching high-voltage battery fires.

The RFC battery extinguishing system.

In 2021, a new extinguishing system was introduced on the market. This system fundamentally differs from all others. The battery extinguishing system pneumatically penetrates the battery housing and delivers extinguishing water directly to the inside. Activation is remotely controlled and always from a safe distance from the vehicle.

The RTE Robot.

This robot is equipped with a changing system for structures. With so-called payload modules, it can quickly respond to various requirements: From extinguishing to support in heavy logistics tasks to recovery work, everything is possible. It is controlled intuitivley via radio remote control.

“We rely on the pioneering spirit of our employees as well as a partnership cooperation with our customers.”
Michael Wildling, Vice President Global Product Management & Innovation

That moment, when revolutionaries are unveiled.

The Trendmap –
industry-relevant
developments.

The first version of the Firefighting Trendmap was created back in 2012. It highlights the various aspects that influence firefighting operations today and in the future. From mobility to health, ecology, connectivity, and much more.
